2021 UPDATE:
Dear Swim Friends --
It is with extreme & thoughtful deliberation that we've concluded we will not be organizing the Tex Robertson HIGHLAND LAKES CHALLENGE this year. Sadly, this will mark the second year in which we've had to cancel all of our events due to the pandemic.
NO Tex Robertson HIGHLAND LAKES CHALLENGE in 2021 :(
What makes this extra tough is the knowledge that YOU are ready to get out there and do your thing under most any condition: rain or shine, in swift or frigid waters, and on rare occasion on the edge of hurricane winds!
Our family respects and cherishes this "bring-it-on" attitude of the open water swimming community and we strive to accommodate that spirit every time we wake in the face of an environmental challenge. And, as many of you know from experience, we've faced many of those challenges in the last 20 years history of the events we organize.
We remain optimistic that we all will again happily immerse ourselves in that gentle (or, at times, not so gentle!) flow of the medium we dearly love and, that we will again come together to enjoy the camaraderie and friendship-building opportunities that are fostered by open water swimming.
MANY THANKS to our volunteers and our friends, who have supported and worked with us along the way, in order to make our events possible and THANKS to YOU for the interest and support you've shown as well as the words of encouragement as we've worked to figure this out.
Wishing safety & good health to you and your loved ones in this unprecedented time.
Respectfully,
Sandy Neilson-Bell, Event Coordinator
Dr. Keith Bell, Event Director
